Bertha-Hewitt 67, Nevis 38

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears earned a decisive 67-38 win over Nevis on February 26, using balanced scoring and strong work on the boards to secure the road victory in the first round of play-offs.

Kendal Beyatt led the Bears with 17 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-13 from the field, while adding six assists, 14 total rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a strong all-around performance. Kyrstin Beyatt added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including a three-pointer, and pulled down eight rebounds.

Piper Dean contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while Kendra Miller added eight points, including two three-pointers, and dished out two assists. Jasmine Williams chipped in six points, three free throws, and six rebounds.

Additional scoring came from Aulani Johnson (4 points), Ellyana Braaten (4 points), Olivia Betterman (2 points), Chloe Rathcke (2 points) and Ava Pomeranz (2 points). Betterman also grabbed four rebounds, while Pomeranz recorded two steals.

The Bears were active on the glass, with Kendal Beyatt leading the way with nine defensive and five offensive rebounds. The team’s defensive pressure and rebounding advantage helped limit Nevis’ scoring opportunities and fuel transition offense throughout the game.

With contributions across the lineup, Bertha-Hewitt controlled the tempo and pulled away for the 29-point win...
