News from Bertha and Hewitt's Pasts

When you suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) life is different. Sometimes the seemingly simplest of things like tying your shoelace or cooking dinner can be overwhelming. Peggy Truman from rural Bertha could tell you a lot about MS. She has suffered from its, at times, devastating effects for 11 years. She volunteers for the MS Society. She works for Tell-A-Peer and the Friendly Visitor programs. She is hoping to get something going in Central Minnesota trying to get the Friendly Visitor and Tell-A-Peer to this area. Truman will be participating in the MS Walk in Brainerd. It’s the first one she will be able to participate in because this is the first year she is feeling well enough to do so.

Sibert was thrown from his snowmobile and run over by another rider. His injuries consisted of a fractured skull, ribs and punctured lungs. He was on a ventilator for the first five days in the ICU.
