Around $1100 was discovered to be missing from the All Star Station in Bertha. According to Chief of Police Shawn Bennett the last employees had left All Star about 11:15 p.m. on Friday, July 20. The morning employee arrived at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday and discovered the money missing.

Maria Guadalupe Eisenbraun, who lives in Bertha, was born in Monterey, Mexico. Rick Eisenbraun, who would become her future husband, was visiting Mexico when they met. Maria has worked as a translator in the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle School system and presently does translation for the Todd County Country Courier. Maria said she enjoys doing English to Spanish translations. She can translate Spanish to English, but it is more difficult.

Twelve births were recorded at the Bertha Hospital in 10 days following July 14. The addresses of the mothers were: Long Prairie with three, Eagle Bend with two, and the remaining from Vining, Browerville, Aldrich, Clarissa, Staples, Wadena and Hewitt.
