Serious injury after chase

According to the Wadena County Sheriff’s Department, On Friday, May 9, shortly after midnight, a Wadena County Sheriff’s Office deputy was investigating a driving complaint of vehicles racing in Wing River Township.

The deputy observed a vehicle in the area and established facts to conduct a traffic stop. The deputy activated the emergency lights, at which time the vehicle accelerated away from the deputy at a high rate of speed.

Less than one mile later, the vehicle lost control and crashed in Section 15 of Wing River Township.

The deputy immediately responded to the vehicle and extricated the driver from the vehicle. The deputy observed serious injuries to the driver and immediately began life-saving measures....
