Snow totals

Significant snow fell over the weekend from Saturday, December 4 to Sunday, December 5. It was followed by high winds and blizzard conditions Sunday night into Monday morning.

Local reported snow totals include: Wadena and Verndale reported seven inches of snow, Hewitt 6.5, Deer Creek, Otter Tail and Menahga had 6, New York Mills 5.3 inches, Bertha 5.2, Sebeka 4 and Long Prairie 2.7 inches. The Golden Eagle Lodge, north of Grand Marais, reported 18 inches of snow.
