High Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash
The Wadena County Sheriff reports that one of his deputies was involved in a vehicle pursuit during the evening hours of February 25. A deputy attempted to stop a motor vehicle for numerous traffic violations. The driver refused to stop, and the deputy initiated a pursuit. Driver Crashes through Emergency Entrance at Hospital
On February 26, at around 8:25 p.m., officers from the Staples Police Department were dispatched to Lakewood Health System, County Road 83, in the city of Staples, for a report of a vehicle that had driven through the emergency room entry doors. It was also reported that the driver had sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver was already receiving medical treatment from hospital staff. No additional injuries were reported.
