The Braves came out firing on all cylinders and jumped out to a very big first-half lead. The Tigers were able to settle in after the half and put together a much better second half, locking down defensively and getting some really good looks offensively. The Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Wolves put together a strong postseason showing at the Section 6A Team Tournament on Friday, February 13, competing at Bertha-Hewitt School and advancing all the way to the championship dual before falling in a tightly contested final. by Coach Sam Schmitz The Pirates struggled to find their rhythm in a 37-58 loss to the Bertha-Hewitt Bears on February 10. At halftime, Verndale was down 16-39, but played a more even second half. The Bears interior game was too much for the Pirates as the Bears scored 40 of their points in the lane.
