Is happiness possible?
Like this blog, it is mostly a series of random thoughts that I have strung together by a theme of happiness and simple ways to achieve it. Or just the fact that not every day can be a happy one!
I admit that I do not write it as consistently as I should especially since the sub-head of the site is your daily 5 minute dose! Like many of you, I also get busy with the things of life and even though I might think about writing something every day, I don't always do it.
I truly believe that our attitude does dictate how we will live. I do believe that we cannot always control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond to it. I do believe that by changing our attitudes and our hearts, we can achieve happiness.
Yes, life is hard, but we don't have to make it harder by having a poor attitude.
The other day I was looking at health insurance for myself. I discovered that between paying for the insurance and paying for my medication (which would not be covered until my high deductible was met) I would be paying out over $2000 a month just on insurance and medication! That is more than I make in a month. I'm not really sure how I will be paying for my other expenses, like a place to live, food to eat or anything like that.
I will admit that I let it get me angry and upset. But then I realized that this was a wake-up call for me to take my health more seriously. I have long believed that proper nutrition can reverse type 2 diabetes. Well, now I am on a "crusade" of sorts, to prove it!
I know I can and will do this. Even though I will still have expensive insurance with a high deductible, I may not have to take all those medications and that will make all the difference!
And that is how I take something bad and turn it around to make it a "happier" situation!
