A Matter of Perspective

Feeling uninspired...

Have you ever had days where you just don’t feel inspired? Yes, me, too.

These past couple of weeks have been like that. I start on something just because I have to, but as time goes by, I feel less and less like doing it. The less I feel like doing it, the less I get done. The less I get done, the more uninspired I feel.

It is a cycle.

I won’t say it is a vicious cycle because there is no feeling in it—at all.

Not having a feeling other than uninspired could be a sign of a bigger problem.

But then...

Yesterday it rained. It was a gentle rain. A needed rain. It was the kind of rain that soaks slowly into the ground. This parched ground desperately needed some cooling liquid.

Some of my grass has greened up a bit. Most of the weeds have greened up a lot!

My flowering bush (I’m not sure what it is called) bloomed!

The rain can do a lot to improve one’s mind and mood.

The rain can heal damage and offer respite to the weary. We need a lot more of it in nice gentle doses as we had on Sunday.

The rain, while for many people it makes them sad, for me, it makes me feel alive!

There was a song from several years ago that talked about only being happy when it rained. I’m happy a lot of other times, too, but rain yesterday did give me a bit of inspiration.

So I guess, let the rain come! I’m ready for some more inspiration!
