Bennett indicted with two additional murder charges
Dylan Bennett was indicted by a grand jury on October 16 with two additional murder charges.
Bennett was originally charged with two counts of murder in the second degree, with intent, which can result in up to 40 years in prison for each charge. Two charges of murder in the first degree, premeditated were added with each charge carrying a sentence of life imprisonment.
Bennett is charged with the death of his parents Carol and Barry Bennett. Their bodies were found on August 21 in their Long Prairie home. The cause of death was gunshot wounds.
Bennett fled to Mexico and was apprehended by Mexican authorities and taken into custody by the FBI. He was returned to Todd County on August 24.
An omnibus hearing will be held on December 11 at the Todd County Courthouse in Long Prairie. Bennett remains in custody.
