Ervasti wins second section crown

Year two of Minnesota State High School League MSHSL Girls Wrestling and our Lady Raider was looking for a return trip to the Xcel Energy Center after earning State Runner-Up honors a year ago.
Abby Ervasti came into the section tournament as the top seed and earned a bye to the semifinals. In the Semifinals, she made quick work of her opponent with a 32-second fall to advance to the Championship.
The Championship match would be a little tougher as her opponent was also a returning medalist from last year. Abby scored the first takedown and gave up a reversal in the opening period.
Abby went neutral in period two and was able to take her down again and grind on top. A controversial two-point near fall went in Abby’s favor and the opposing coach went out the door as it was 6-2 going to the third. . .
