Gades retires after 37 years

Mark Gades is retiring on December 31 after working as a custodian for the Verndale School for 37 years.

Gades was recognized with a plaque presented by Superintendent Paul Brownlow on December 20 for his years of service to the district before Battle of the Grades. Wade Kern, building/grounds/transportation supervisor said they call Gades Mr. Fix It.

“He knows the ins and outs of the building so well,” said Kern. “He’s a hard one to replace....."
