The home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Anderson, the son of A.X. Anderson and former resident of Clarissa, was damaged by a giant funnel cloud. Part of the roof of their home was blown off and all of the windows were smashed. Perhaps one of the most amazing aspects of the damage resulting from the storm was the fact that the house was moved slightly off its foundation. As a result, the house is being torn down. Twelve large trees on the property were uprooted. Mrs. Anderson and their five children were home at the time, but were uninjured.

The Clarissa Fire Department answered a call about 2 p.m. on Friday when a tractor ignited in a hayfield at the Glenn Kotval farm.
