September 6, 1995

“With the changes in our agriculture base, instead of both cooperatives competing, it’s better to team up and pool our resources for the good of both communities,” said Dale Greenwaldt, president of the board of the Eagle Bend Produce Company. Greenwaldt was referring to the proposed consolidation of Clarissa’s Agri-Valley and the Eagle Bend Produce into one business which will be called Central Ag Services.

“This table is just right!” said Rachel and Michael, children of Diane and Conrad Stoterau, as they tried out the new child-sized furniture at the Eagle Bend Library. The table and chairs were purchased with donations made to the library, including a $300 donation from an anonymous benefactor in honor of the Eagle Valley Class of 1995.


50 Years Ago

September 3, 1970

Competition opens Thursday, September 3, in the 1970 Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament at the Municipal Stadium in St. Cloud. Clarissa District 8 is among the 32 teams from 16 active Class B leagues around the state qualifying for the 47th annual event which runs through September 13.

Homecoming at the Clarissa High School has been set for Friday, September 18, when the Clarissa football team is scheduled to meet Grey Eagle on the local gridiron.
