The Bertha-Hewitt High School Marching Band has been selected to compete among 25 bands in Alexandria’s 11th annual Vikingland Band Festival on June 25. Known as Minnesota’s biggest summer marching band competition, the festival offers competing bands nearly $8000 in awards. In addition to earning cash prizes, bands this year have another incentive to perform well as the festival has been named a band selection site for the Fiesta Bowl parade in Phoenix, Arizona.
Two days of activities will bring eighteen Central Minnesota dairy farmers’ daughters to St. Cloud during June Dairy Month.
