25 Years Ago

April 2, 1997

Doug LaDue is the recipient of a mentorship from the 5 Wings Region Fine Arts. He is one of 10 in the region to receive this honor. Doug’s mentorship will be in the area of visual arts and character design.

Sarah Booker and Mike Pontius have been chosen as the Eagle Valley Triple-A winners for 1996-97. This award is given to seniors who meet the criteria of having at least a 3.0 GPA, being involved in at least one sport, and at least one fine art program.


50 Years Ago

March 30, 1972

The local fire department answered a call at approximately 4:45 p.m., Monday, March 27, to the Donald Morcomb residence. Low electrical voltage and a power outage that lasted one hour and 15 minutes caused the pump on the oil furnace to keep pumping oil onto the furnace. When the electrical power returned to full capacity, the furnace igniter began functioning again. Igniting the fuel in the furnace and causing an explosion. Much smoke and soot damage resulted.

Randal Hess from Eagle Bend who is enrolled in Farm Mechanics I at the Alexandria Area Technical School was named to the winter quarter Director’s list as a result of his high achievement.
