25 Years Ago May 10, 1995 Todd Lubben and Dave Gosiak fried tilapia for Aqua Valley’s first anniversary fish fry last Saturday. Over 150 fish dinners were served during the open house of the Aqua Valley store, which is a student operated business. ********** Rhianon Stuart was elected to the FLA/FHA student body which is a state peer education squad and JoMarie Moller was elected the new Region 6 vice president.
50 Years Ago May 7, 1970 Curtis Stevenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Stevenson of rural Eagle Bend, miraculously escaped serious injury in a weekend car accident when his car left the road and overturned when he fell asleep at the wheel. Despite the fact that his automobile was totally demolished, his most serious injury was a dislocated thumb. ********** The W.S.C.S. of the local United Methodist Church will meet on May 14 in the church parlors. Hostesses will be: Mrs. August Sukow, Mrs. M.C. Stolp, and Mrs. Jacob Otterstetter. The program will be under the direction of Mrs. Elmer Sumey and Mrs. Maurice Orr.
