On Thursday, March 22, an auction sale will close out the Eagle Bend business that for years was known as Engebretson Chevrolet and Engebretson Motor Company. Lloyd Engebretson started in the machinery business with Art Craig in 1945 in the garage now occupied by Maureen’s Ceramics. The building stood on the now vacant lot between Sir Anthony’s Restaurant and Bisel’s. In 1946, Engebretson bought the garage from Cliff Hansen and moved the Case dealership. In 1950, he started subletting Chevrolets from Wadena until he got a franchise.
