Routine meeting for Verndale School Board

The Verndale School Board held its regular meeting on October 4. Board Chair Bill Blaha and Principal Katie Bolland attended via Zoom.
Dehumidification Project
The Buildings and Grounds Committee met and discussed the dehumidification project and the opportunities with interest savings from the bonds.
An area suggested for the project was the “old” gym as well as looking at replacing the gym’s roof. They are looking at more details to do the entire section for the projects, instead of in small sections, as well as researching pneumatic controls versus an automated system.
Superintendent Paul Brownlow said it would cost about $282,000 to take care of the pneumatic system for the old gym as well as update the aging HVAC infrastructure in the school. . .
