Tigers start off season with a pair of wins

The Browerville-Eagle Valley Tigers kicked off the 2023 season with a pair of wins over non-conference opponents, Bertha-Hewitt and Sebeka, in back-to-back games.
On Tuesday, the Tigers traveled to Bertha to take on a tough Bears team.
The Lady Bears put up a big block and played some scrappy defense, but the Tigers were dominant in set 1, winning 25-16.
Set two saw the Bears take an early 12-5 lead as the Tigers struggled to pass. The Bears continued to hold on to a 6-point lead much of the game, but the Tigers held strong and kept chipping away until a run late in the game secured the victory in set two 25-23.
Set three started out much the same as the previous one with inconsistent passing plaguing the team, which allowed the Bears to jump out to a commanding 10-20 lead. . .
