The Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers met up with the Pine River-Backus Tigers in the semi-finals of the Section 5A West playoffs. PR-B defeated the B/EV Tigers earlier this season by a final score of 60 - 59. This one would prove to be just as exciting with similar stat lines.
Offensively, the Tigers opened up the first half with 29 points behind Miguel Maloney’s 14 points. B/EV took an early six-point lead and eventually an eight-point lead at 19 to 11 with 10:28 to go. Over the next five minutes, the B/EV Tigers would only muster, two points. The defense, however, took over for the lack of offense and only allowed PR-B two points of their own. . .
