Tigers win annual Cancer vs Coaches game

by Coach Jeni Burns

The Tigers girl’s basketball team had a very busy week. It started on Monday with a long road trip up to Nevis to face the section opponent. The Tigers started off very strong defensively in the first half. They also did a great job controlling the offensive and defensive boards and pulled in 29 in the first half alone. Browerville went into the locker room at the half up 34-19.

The Tigers started off slow in the second half with some turnovers and missed opportunities on the offensive end but were able to battle through and extend their lead to as many as 25. The Tigers had 10 different scorers chipping into their final tally of 59 points, with Nevis ending the game at 34. Tyra Myers chipped in 15 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists, and Madeline Irsfeld hauled in 11 rebounds.

On Thursday the Tigers traveled to Swanville to take on the Bulldogs. . .
