The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on November 2. Commissioner Jon Kangas was absent.
Discussion on Combining Public Health and Human Services
Board Chair Sheldon Monson explained he felt there would be no financial savings in combining the two departments. He felt it would be best to leave the positions separate.
Cindy Pederson, director of Wadena County Public Health; Jennifer Westrum, director of Wadena County Human Services; and County Coordinator Ryan Odden met in the spring of 2020 to discuss the integration of the two departments. A second meeting was later held with Monson.
Commissioner Mike Weyer asked if combining the department heads was addressed, having one person oversee both departments. . .
