A Matter of Perspective
So, lately, I have had a huge fascination with the Superhero (Superheroine?) Wonder Woman. I know, it sounds rather strange but hear me out.
Wonder Woman does the right thing even at risk to herself. I want to be like that.
There is a song by Sia that has been dedicated to the first Wonder Woman movie that stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. It is titled “Unstoppable.” How fitting!
While the chorus (which I will share later) is the icing on the cake, so to speak, there is one line that stood out to me and will likely resonate with many of you. That line is this: “It’s never the right time.”
It’s never the right time . . .
I know this and yet I still procrastinate and put it off and say, “Tomorrow.”
I wait for that “perfect” moment. That perfect moment doesn’t come. Not on its own, anyway. I think we have to make that “perfect moment.” We make it by taking ACTION!
Taking action is not easy but I believe it is the best way (not the only way) to become unstoppable.
Wonder Woman took action. Instead of staying down and hiding in the trenches, she boldly walked into battle to come to the aid of people she didn’t know. Yes, she had certain advantages over the ordinary human being but she could have chosen to stay back and let things happen.
Instead, she took action and it made all the difference!
A couple of weeks ago, I took action. I hosted a class on Affiliate Marketing even though I was very nervous about it. I knew if I waited—if I put it off until “tomorrow”—I would never do it. So I set a date, prepared myself as best I could, and held the class.
Had I waited, who knows if I ever would have done it?
A lot of steps in between thoughts and success . . .
There are undoubtedly a lot of steps that take place between the thought and the success of something.
I imagine they would be different for everyone but one thing is certain, ACTION has to be one of the steps.
Without action, an idea remains a thought or perhaps something roughly sketched out on a napkin.
There is nothing wrong with thoughts and dreams and napkins! But if that is as far as it goes, then the idea remains just that—an idea.
I can’t tell you the steps you will need to take in between. I can’t tell you what it will take to be unstoppable, except for this one thing: TAKE ACTION.
They don’t call superheroes ACTION figures for no reason. They take ACTION. We should take our examples from them!
Then, when the time comes, we can say we are unstoppable!
