The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program has made a comeback to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle and St. Mary’s Schools after a long hiatus.

DARE first began in the Long Prairie Area in 1992 and ended in February 2014. DARE was previously taught at times by former chiefs Kevin Langer and Duane Breiter.

Long Prairie Police Chief Ryan Hanson wanted the program to start again. The first week of January Long Prairie Police Officer Preston Oetterer stepped up to the plate.
