Howard driving a stolen vehicle involved in a crash


On Monday, October 4, at approximately 5:53 p.m., the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a motor vehicle crash north of Wadena by Wadena Asphalt. The caller stated the airbags in the vehicle were deployed and they were looking for a child that was involved in the crash.

Law enforcement, the Wadena Fire Department, and medical personnel from Tri-County Hospital arrived on the scene and began to search for the missing child.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as James Howard, 29, of Wadena, stated he had put the injured child in a deer stand. The property owners searched the deer stands on the property and no one was found. . .
