The Todd County Parks and Trails Board held a meeting on February 20 at Long Pines Bar and Restaurant in Bertha to seek new ideas for outdoor recreation in northern Todd County.

David Determan, board chair, explained the board was created in 2008. County Commissioners Rod Erickson and Randy Neumann serve on the board as well as seven citizens. Three of their main projects include Battle Point Park on Lake Osakis. Todd County took ownership of the park in 1977. It’s approximately 10 acres and the site of many Native American battles. The Lake Wobegon Trail is 7.6 miles long and extends east from Osakis through West Union and south to the Stearns County line. The Long Prairie River canoe landing is on County Road 38. . . .
