Mason Gode made his fourth trip to the individual count as he became the first Wolves State Champion in program history. Mason had placed sixth in 2018 and was State runner-up last season. Gode opened up a 9–0 major over Jonah Gruenes from Minneota in the round of 16. Mason won his State Quarterfinal match over Hunter
Hitchen from Fertile-Beltrami, 11–1 to advance to the State Semifinals. He then won a hard fought 5–0 decision over Nolan Rommel, Wabasha-Kellogg to advance to his second straight State Finals match. Awaitng Mason was Will Magaard from Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg. Magaard a past State champion and Mason have wrestled three times in the last month and it was a rematch of the Section 5A Finals. The outcome was much the same as Mason won 10–6 and claimed his first State Championship! Mason finished the season as the 138 pound Class A State Champion, with an amazing 54–1 record. . . . .
