25 Years Ago April 20, 1995 Trinda Christensen picked a surprise treat with a little help from the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny was at the Vets Club on Saturday to help kids get into the spirit of the season. ********** An environmental play written and performed by area students will be held Saturday at the Mark and Lynn Geraet’s property east of Browerville near Motzko Field and at the Long Prairie River Park. The case of the play is made up of parochial, public and home school students who hope to bring awareness to the problems of erosion and other damages to the Long Prairie River on the 25th anniversary of Earth Day. The cast includes Adri Boerboom, Sue Michaels, Vanessa Rapatz, Katie Smith, Missy Shutter, Moriah Nolan-Rapatz, Leah Michaels and Benji Brever. ********** Chuck Buhl of Browerville received an MPCA award from Lieutenant Governor Johanne Benson and MPCA Commissioner Chuck Williams. ********** A 14-year-old boy was charged Tuesday with attempting to murder a Minneapolis man who was walking his dog last week. The boy is charged with attempted intentional second degree assault and with possessing a gun. He’s charged with shooting John Pogreba, formerly of Browerville, on April 4. Pogreba remains in serious condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Doctors told his wife that they don’t expect him to be able to speak again and he may also be partly paralyzed.
