On hand for the groundbreaking of a $2 million plus court facilities building on Tuesday, May 16, in Long Prairie were County Attorney Chuck Rasmussen, Court Administrator Jerry Wallner, retired Court Administrator Maggie Minke, Judge Don Gray, Commissioner Stan Sumey, Commissioner George Jagush, Commissioner Ken Sorenson, Commissioner Scotty Greenwaldt, Commissioner Tony Haasser and County Auditor Joyce Rosenow.

Karl Kellen took first in the 300m hurdles which moved Browerville into third place in the Regions over Swanville and Eagle Valley. Congratulations Karl, Poppen’s Tiger Athlete of the Week.

May 26, 1945

Con’s Cafe in Browerville will be under new management beginning June 5 according to the announcement made this week by Mr. Kaluza, who has been prominent in the business affairs of the village for the past 12 years. A brother of the local businessman, William Kaluza, a businessman from Superior, Wisconsin, will take over on June 5.
