Council Member Jack Dressen submitted his resignation at a special city council meeting last Monday. Dressen cited family reasons for having to resign. “This is something that we did not anticipate but with the recent death of my son we have other pressing family concerns,” commented Dressen.

What are you looking forward to at school this fall? Amanda Carlson is going to be in the sixth grade this coming fall. She said, “I am looking forward to school this year because we’re going to Duluth and Eagle Mountain for our school trips.” Sarah Lucas is going to be in the seventh grade. She said “I am not really excited about school, but I want to see my friends.”

An army still travels on its stomach while in the field training exercises. The first “Operation Mess” is conducted by men from the 114th Transportation Truck Company, Wadena, as the unit began its summer training period at Camp Ripley on Sunday, August 6. Pictured, Mess Sgt. Willard K. Fultz checked the operation of a field range for Pvts. Lloyd J. Rebischeke and Richard E. Van Horn and Cpl. Robert N. Gorghuber. The latter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gorghuber of the Browerville community.
