25 Years Ago

October 12, 1995

Over 50 students, along with parents and friends, raised $2500 for Christ the King School during last Saturday’s walk for non-public schools. The annual walk is a nationwide event that is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

The Pheasants Forever banquet sold out for the fifth year in a row. Auctioneer Al Wessel and Dave Kircher pulled raffle tickets as Jim Borrett announced the winners and Chuck Pelzer checked off the items. Pam Buhl helped display the items. This year’s prizes featured 25 guns and over 135 other items.


75 Years Ago

October 13, 1945

The Blade understands that a Red Owl store will be launched in Browerville soon. The Richard Yates store building on Main Street is being made ready at this time for the new enterprise to be managed by outside parties.


50 Years Ago

October 15, 1970

Al Johnson, Browerville football co-captain, crowned Carol Daniel as the “1970 Homecoming Queen” last Thursday night.
