A new regional crucifix shrine was erected on the Ryan and Rachel Dreher property on June 19, Corpus Christi Sunday, located on County Road 14 and 25 in rural Browerville.

Father Mitchell Bechtold of Christ the King Catholic Church had approached the Drehers about placing the shrine on their property as there was none on the east side of town. And their property was at a busy intersection with lots of traffic. The Drehers happily obliged.

The 14-foot-tall crucifix with a statue of Jesus stood tall as the parishioners of Christ the King Catholic Church erected the shrine to build upon the tradition of the Browerville Catholics.

“This cross wasn’t going to be from the parish, this cross was going to be for the parish, and for the people of this area,” explained Father Mitchell Bechtold.

They also placed the fence behind the shrine, as is the custom with the other shrines in the area. . .
