The Eagle Valley Danceline held a performance and awards night Thursday, March 16. Honors were received by Kelly Bentz for the “Best Splits”, Maija Wiltermuth “Most Valuable Dancer”, Janel Rising “Best Kick”, Becca Asfeld “Best Attitude” and “Most Improved.”

Americanism Essay Contest winners were presented their awards by Marci Motl, Americanism chairman and Lucille Hagedorn, VFW Auxiliary #6318 president: Alyssa LaVoie, second place, Diane Irish, first place and District Winner, Michael Aspengren, third place.

March 19, 1970
The Eagle Bend FFA Chapter repeated as Region II Parliamentary Procedure Titlist at the Regional FFA contest held at Aitkin. Team members include Warren Pommier, president; Dan Sprague, vice president; Gary Sadlemeyer, secretary; Rod Piepho, treasurer; Ricky Mittag, reporter; Ron Motl, sentinel; Mike Firkus, Rod Stueve, Dan Piepho and Dallas Hamilton.

Lavern A. Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold H. Jackson, was commissioned an Ensign in the Naval Reserve on completion of the 11 week Aviation Officer Course at the Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, Florida.
