25 Years Ago

February 22, 1995

Ragna Johnson and Shake Nelson were crowned Valentines Day Queen and King at the Eagle Bend Senior Citizens Center.

Eagle Bend Floral added a touch of class to their Valentine’s Day deliveries. Glenn Kuperus, dressed in a top hat and tails, made the deliveries and added just that little extra special touch to the delight of the lucky recipients on that special day.


50 Years Ago

February 19, 1970

Annually, the importance of blood to the operation of modern-day health facilities is stressed during March, by the local Blood Bank units. Its importance is further stressed in an article provided to this newspaper by Loren Harnack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harnack of Eagle Bend, who serves with the U.S. Armed Forces and works with mobile blood processing center in Okinawa for the U.S. Army Medical Center Blood Bank there.

Champion buttermaker of the Central Minnesota Dairymen and Creamery Operators Association held in St. Cloud on February 4-5, 1970 is Myron Beach, of Eagle Bend, an employee of the Todd County Dairy, Browerville. Myron placed eighth with a high score of 99.33.
