Rocky road not a problem for Rocky Hart

When you ask Rocky Hart of Eagle Bend how God has been working in his life, his answer is never a prescribed one. He answers from his heart with the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been ugly for most of us. It was somewhat ugly for Rocky, too, but like in all things, he looked for the good in the midst of the difficult times.

To usher in the pandemic for Rocky, he began with a trip to Paris, France in March of 2020.

“We had done a fundraiser in November 2019 so that I would be able to go,” said Rocky.

He said it was a very enjoyable trip and one that could have ended up being even longer.

The day Rocky was to fly back—March 11, 2020—was the date that former President Donald Trump put the travel ban to Europe into place.

“Everything was shut down but I was able to fly home,” he said.

“I felt assured that these shutdowns would only last a couple of weeks, but it has been so much longer. I ended up being at home for 10 months. I would have preferred to be at school but that was not meant to be,” added Rocky.

He had been doing Post-Secondary Education Options (PSEO) for two years which was somewhat difficult because it was mostly online but last spring he was able to live on campus at his college of choice—North Central University in the Twin Cities. . .
