Suspects flee after traffic stop

On October 7, at 1:14 a.m., the Todd County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on 4th Street West and Main Street in the city of Browerville.

During that stop, two white male suspects fled the vehicle on foot. A search of the area was conducted by deputies and Long Prairie officers, but the suspects were not located.

There was a continued law enforcement presence in the area. They asked residents to lock their vehicles and call 911 if they saw anyone matching the suspect descriptions.

Suspect #1—late 20’s white male, approximately 5’10”, 160 pounds, wearing a pink, brown, and white Nike windbreaker, black sweatpants, and black shoes.

Suspect #2—mid-30’s white male, approximately 6’2”, 350 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt, tan sweatpants, brown baseball cap, and flip-flops.

A female driver was arrested on controlled substance-related charges.

A deputy sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident and was treated and released from the Long Prairie Hospital.

The suspects that fled from deputies have not yet been located, but have been identified as Zachery Thomas Engel, 33, of Alexandria and Logan Gregory Stenson, 28, of Fargo, ND.

Both have active warrants for their arrest from other jurisdictions and are believed to have fled the area. Charges are pending with the County Attorney’s Office for fleeing a peace officer.

Authorities believe there is no active threat to the community and appreciate the public’s assistance in the investigation.
