Wadena County Commissioners: Considers Major Highway Change With Proposed Roundabout on Highway 10

The Wadena County Commissioners held a work session on Tuesday, April 11.
Highway 10 Roundabout
County Engineer Darin Fellbaum and Eric Schiller, MnDOT, and Derek Schmidt with WSB discussed the proposed roundabout on Highway 10 at the intersection of Harry Rich Drive.
They are working on conversations with property owners on the upcoming Highway 10 projects. The recommended alternative is a roundabout on both ends of the proposed expansion, one by the hospital, and another at Harry Rich Drive.
This would help with access, and reduce conflicts such as nearby driveways, that cause traffic to bind up and cause crashes. This also helps with speed reduction coming into the city. Moving the speed reduction sign doesn’t have any effect, and MnDOT doesn’t have the authority to do that. . .
