Wadena County Commissioners: Final levy, zoning and human services discussed

The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on December 13.
Final Levy
At the last meeting, the proposed county levy was at 7.39 percent. Auditor/Treasurer Heather Olson explained with changes to the law library and funds from the South Country Health Alliance fund that brought human services numbers down to 16 percent. Along with investment factors, the final levy came in at $10,139,216 which brings it to a 3.13 percent increase. The final levy was approved.
Abandoning County-wide Zoning
Board Chair Jon Kangas explained other counties do not have county-wide zoning and he sees zoning as a roadblock for property owners and businesses. . .
