News from Clarissa's Past

April 18, 2001
The Randy and Cari Jonas family who live south of Clarissa have had several of their sheep killed in the past few weeks. According to Randy, the sheep started showing up dead and were usually cornered in the pasture. They got rid of their dogs thinking they were the culprit. The day after that they found an 800 pound steer corned in the pasture with part of his hind quarters eaten. The game warden was called and sent out someone from their Wolf Control Unit. They found no signs of wolves. He said it was likely dogs. Their cat was also killed and half eaten.
