25 Years Ago

August 21, 1996

Learning to work together as a team can be hard. It can also be fun and an adventure. Learning leadership skills is an added bonus. The theme of the trip the United Methodist youth took to Montana this past June was “Teamwork”. The youth included Josh Prather, Everett Prather, Steve Roth, Mike Willie, Sarah Johnson, Becky Schnettler, Pastor Bonita Orr, Susie Hayes, Jody Hlatky, Kyle Green, Kathy Salathe, Meghan Green, Greg Holmquist, Mitch Clementson, Pat Kalkowski, Joan, Dennis and Lindy Reierson.

Clarissa residents are reminded they need a building permit to put a utility shed on their property. Council members questioned whether some of the sheds they are seeing around town are permitted. Questions were also raised whether all of the sheds met the code which requires a building to be 10 feet from the property line.


50 Years Ago

August 19, 1971

A lady farmer from Assam, India, will spend almost a month in Todd County studying and observing 4-H and youth development programs and agriculture. She is Syeds Tazkia Begum, 21.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Luberts, proprietors of the Clarissa TV Sales and Service, will feature a grand opening on Saturday, August 21.
