Bertha-Hewitt fourth grade students enjoyed a visit from Region IV Dairy Princess Lisa Detloff on March 3. She presented the students with the “Milk From Cow To You” program. Some topics that Detloff discussed with the students were what cows eat and how much they eat. Some feed examples were brought into the classroom and were passed around so students could see, touch and smell what cows eat.

Odyssey of the Mind team members (“OMers”) performed in competition at Sartell on Saturday, March 6. On Tuesday, March 9, they presented their performances for their friends and families. March 17, 1949
The more than 630 posts of the American Legion in Minnesota will join with those from coast to coast in the celebration of the 13th anniversary of the organization March 15-17. Eight Minnesota soldiers, according to records at the National Headquarters of the American Legion in Indianapolis, attended the historic gathering of the first AEF in Paris, March 15-17, 1919, at which time the Legion came into being.

A large group attended the Women’s Club’s monthly meeting in commemoration of St. Patrick’s Day. Mrs. Roy Ireland sang a group of Irish songs. Mrs. Art Potratz read a short essay on St. Patrick. Other portions of the program included education in Minnesota from the beginning days to present.
