News from Eagle Bend's Past

July 22, 1998

Have you ever come upon an accident and thought “If I knew what to do, I’d help”? You knew that because you lacked training and experience, you would only be in the way. Years ago, Kim Lind drove by a motorcycle accident because she knew she would be in the way, but she did not forget it. Instead, Lind sought education in the medical field. She is now a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), a public health nurse and a credit care nurse. She works for Staples Hospital, Clarissa Care Center and Douglas County Ambulance and is also a firefighter for Eagle Bend. This summer, Lind is tackling another medical education challenge, however, this time she is the teacher. Lind is teaching a group of 10 students from Eagle Bend to be first responders.
