The Eagle Valley School Board tentatively set August 20 for a special meeting. If everyone involved: the banker, the students and advisors, the Aqua Valley board and school board members can be on hand, the fate of the student-run business will be decided. At last report, the hardware and bait equipment was packed and thought sold. But both buyers had backed out. Principal Richard Lundgren said they only had two students sign up to work in the store. No business economics or management classes have been scheduled for the coming school year.

Clarissa Flyers draftee Joe Cuchna was the starting pitcher for Wadena on Saturday. The Chiefs lost to St. Cloud Ultimate Sports, 5-0.

Private Douglas C. Stephan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nickalos Stephan, Route 1, Eagle Bend, recently completed eight weeks of basic training at the U.S. Army Training Center, Infantry, Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Eagle Bend School District Number 790 has entered into an agreement with the Veterans Administration to administer a veterans cooperative farm training course at Eagle Bend.
