Bertha-Hewitt 56, Sebeka 41 The Bertha-Hewitt girls basketball team earned a 56–41 home victory over Sebeka on February 5, using balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and a memorable Senior Night moment to secure the win. Senior Night provided one of the evening’s most meaningful highlights. Anna Hegarty, whose senior year was significantly impacted by a knee injury suffered last summer, was able to start the game. Bertha-Hewitt 51, Upsala 52 Bertha-Hewitt came up just short on the road, falling to Upsala 52–51 in a tightly contested girls basketball game on January 20. The Bears were led offensively by Piper Dean and Kendal Beyatt, who each scored 16 points. Cold shooting on an especially cold day hurt the Pirates in the 15-67 loss. Verndale did not make a three-point attempt and shot 16%.
