To the Editor: The U.S. Postal Service—what a mess. I sent a package to my brother from Deer Creek to Annandale on the 16th of December. It never got there. I had this package tracked several times. Seems it gets sent from one post office to another over the state. The address is very readable and correct—machines make mistakes—AI for you. Find a new way to ship folks. Never, never again. Benning Printing and Publishing Celebrates 25 Years
Ray and Marlo Benning are celebrating 25 years as the owners of the Independent News Herald. They purchased the newspaper from Ernie and Diane Silbernagel, taking over the business on June 1, 2000. The Silbernagels had owned the Eagle Bend News and Bertha Herald since 1979 and combined these papers with the Clarissa Independent in 1992, creating the Independent News Herald.
